Hello friends,
This is Bela Shah from India. This time I have made something totally different and I hope you all like it as much as I enjoyed making it. I have made a journal using the burlap art boards from the Little Birdie Crafts.
So here's the step by step tutorial to create your own mixed media journal from the scratch.
I used Little Birdie Natural Burlap art boards. They come in a pack of 2 so that's when i thought to make a journal . Take both the art boards and adhere them with burlap ribbon keeping little space between the two.
Then use Little Birdie 2 in 1 Mixed Media Paste to create the script texture with the script stencil and let it dry thoroughly. the paste is super thick and I absolutely love the way it creates the texture. I had beautiful jute lace in my stash which i thought will be perfect for the spine of the journal. So I adhered the lace on the burlap ribbon with Little Birdie silicon glue.
Added a beautiful delicate white lace at the front and back which looked perfect with the script texture and also adhered the Primed Chipboard Frame embellishment in oval to the journal cover.
Added coconut fiber and a beautiful embellishment surrounded by Little Birdie Crystal Drops inside the oval for added interest.
Used Little Birdie beautiful handmade flowers to decorate the frame; added primed chipboard sentiment - Loads of love and a tasseled burlap lace at the front and back edge of the journal cover. Also added small birdie die cuts here and there... I think they look super cute :)
Lastly I adhered jute twine at the center edge and back edge under the tasseled lace so I can use it for tied the journal cover cut the border chipboard into half and stuck it on the top left hand corner and bottom right hand corner, added one layer of the mixed media paste to the sentiment and border chipboard to make it look more white. I made small bows with the paper twine and added near the flowers .
And here our simple yet beautiful, vintage yet classy mixed media journal is ready. I am gonna gift this to my dad with loads of love on his Birthday next month and I am sure you all can create equally beautiful journals for your loved ones.
I hope this post of mine is creatively inspiring. To watch the full video tutorial click the link below:
